Jakub S. Szlaga, Attorney at Law

For over 12 years, I’ve dedicated my practice to helping families navigate some of the most important immigration milestones of their lives. I focus on marriage-based green cards, fiancé visas, TN visas, complex naturalization and citizenship matters—including cases involving prior criminal convictions—as well as I-601A and I-601 waivers of inadmissibility.
As a Polish- and Spanish-speaking attorney raised by immigrant parents, I understand the uncertainty, stress, and hope that accompany the immigration journey. Clients value working with me because I take the time to listen, explain each step clearly, and remain accessible throughout their case. My approach combines legal expertise with empathy, patience, and a commitment to treating every client as a real person—not a file.
I built my legal foundation at Wayne State University Law School, completing the Immigration Law Clinic with honors and gaining additional experience at the Wayne County Third Circuit Court and the Wayne County Corporation Counsel.
Outside the office, I’m a husband and father, and you’ll often find me spending time with my wife and son. I’m passionate about languages and enjoy following soccer whenever I can. These personal experiences and interests keep me grounded and remind me why helping families stay together matters so much.
I proudly serve clients across Livonia, Plymouth, Canton, Northville, Novi, Dearborn, Farmington, Sterling Heights, Troy, and the greater Metro Detroit area.
